Low Carbon Project
@lowcarbonproject.bsky.social
We started a Youtube channel back in 2022 and our first project is a self build Hempcrete house, in the UK. This house is proof that we can build better homes! (Matt is not involved with running this account!)

Thanks 😊 I thought it was easily available in the US considering how the rules have been relaxed over the past few years.

We will definitely be posting more, the build has progressed a lot but I have moved to Spain this year. I will be returning to record updates + some bonus episodes in October🍻

The organisations and people receiving letters from UKLFI should take a leaf out of @dalevince.com book and just tell them to "fuck off" rather than pandering to their BS threats.

It's not necessarily the architects fault. Most likely the council and planning officers. Source - girlfriend is an architect and has to deal with their ridiculous requirements all the time

Looks like they're just recycling US bull shit headlines, they can't even be bothered to make up their own shite any more.

Yeah but imagine if only a small portion of the "1.5 million homes" promised in the UK were built with it.

Doing all of those the normal way would have 50 Million tons of emissions associated with it, using hempcrete could make that net zero. Also possible to build up to 12 stories (so far)

And this doesn't include the CO2 locked up in the timber used either

Seems like a big fat waste of time and money when there are already far better solutions for carbon capture in buildings.

This 👇 is for 1 house!

Well that's obviously fake, how did he write that? He doesn't even have opposable thumbs! 😜 (Disclaimer... I have never seen Bluey and for all I know does actually have them)

Sounds like a hemp house would be perfect for that. It's pretty hot in UK at the moment and Matts place is staying nice and cool without aircon.
