It really hasn’t always been the problem.

I'm extremely proud to announce that I've been elected to the board of the Pastfinders of South Lake County Genealogical Society! I can't wait to get more involved with this great group of researchers and family historians.

Yearbooks were a little bit different when my grandpa was in high school. This was from Johnson High School in St. Paul, MN in 1939.

The weird thing about Florida is that 20 feet behind me was a stage and park packed full of people. 30 feet in front of me there was an alligator.

Yearbooks used to be weird. These are from Johnson High, a school in St. Paul, MN from 1929. I’m looking for my great-uncle, but I think he graduated in 1930 and this one only has the seniors listed.

100% agreed, which is why it’s so disappointing that it’s so hard to use on a phone. You spend more time zooming in on things than you do getting info. The technology to fix the issue is 10-15 years old, it’s just a shame they haven’t done it.

This is the front of my great-father Jens Jensen's funeral program. Jens died in 1950 in Chicago, but the cover features the Singing Tower from Bok Tower Gardens. Oddly, that's only a little more than an hour away from where I live in Orlando, but I have no idea why it would be on the cover.

It's right outside of Nashville and my grandparents and great-aunt Roxanne visited there and took some photos.

I love figuring out where old photos were taken and then finding them on Google Maps. I spent about an hour Googling business names this morning and then found the right place after about 3 minutes on newspapers.com. This is Carter's Court in Franklin, TN in probably the late 70s.

I can make this joke because my Dad isn't on Bluesky. At least I hope he isn't.

My dad's homecoming celebration looks like it was way more fun than mine.

According to the yearbook, "On Thursday, October 14, there was a bonfire at 7:30 in the parking lot. Walt Jones lit the fire which was kept under control by the Carpentersville Fire Department."

Happy #626 Day!

This is our third year of going over to the Polynesian Resort to celebrate, and it's always a good time. :)

If I was a CEO and this took me almost a full minute to solve you couldn’t have tortured it out of me.

My grandpa snapped the photo on the left back in the 1970s at the corner of Grant and Jackson in #SanFrancisco. The photo on the right is taken from the current street view of the same street from Google Maps.

It's really interesting to see what has changed and what hasn't. #familyhistory

I finished @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social's amazing book Everything Is Tuberculosis a couple of days ago. It's incredible, you should absolutely read it.

These two bits from the end of the book really stuck with me. /1
