The weird Yankees bats fit within the rules established by baseball. The 2025 MLB rulebook requires bats to be single pieces of solid wood no longer than 42 inches long. The rules dictate a maximum diameter of 2.61 inches, but do not specify any particular barrel placement or maximum weight.

What's next, removing the Negro League stats that were included last year?
Rob Manfred pledged to keep MLB's values on diversity “unchanged" back in February.
But now, MLB's careers home page has no reference to “diversity," with a league spokesman telling The Athletic they're "evaluating" the programs.
