While all of the to-dos are important, I think the next thing I need to really *see* in my game is the Hunter as a more imposing force. I have a state machine, behaviours and attack types planned that I think will make it truly fearsome.

The large location notification doesn't stay on the screen, it appears and disappears contextually so it doesn't obscure the screen when it's not needed. Work in progress - especially the mobile UI graphics - but it is finally in progress!

There isn't going to be much text in the game outside the information you get during deliveries, so it needs a place to shine. I want to make sure that we're communicating *enough* and *appropriate* and *timely* information to the player.

Pretty quickly, I learned that this was easier than I've built it up to be over the past decade or so. Blender will happily export to GLB, and GDevelop will happily import that GLB.

Last time I attempted to learn Blender was in like 2001, when I first took a "serious" crack at gamedev, with this book. It... didn't get me very far. I didn't even take a programming class until like 2003, and I wasn't very good.

Trouble is, when you're working with flat sprites and boxes, things have a tendency to look... flat and boxy. Which can be an *~*aesthetic*~*, but it's limiting. Especially for the buildings, but also for things like this objective marker. #gamedev #solodev #blender #bHopper #retrogaming #gdevelop

The art style I've been aiming at is something like GTA 1 or GTA 2, namely, top-down with sprite-based vehicles etc. and minimal 3D, mostly GDevelop's 3D boxes for buildings and other large features.

Finally bit the bullet and started learning #Blender. I need to do some rudimentary #3Dart for my #GDevelop game #bHopper, so I pulled up the donut tutorial and had a blast with it. Looking forward to learning more for both #gamedev and #3Dprinting purposes.

Lighting it from different angles does exactly what I want it to. Very happy with this. Can't wait to make a mold and cast it in concrete. If it looks like this in cheap white PLA, I'm very excited for what it will look like in concrete.
