RISC-V Mainboard for the Framework Laptop 13 is now available for $199
Last year computer maker Framework announced plans to release a RISC-V Mainboard for its 13 inch laptops. Then the company launched an early access program in November. And now the DeepComputing RISC-V Mainboard for the Framework Laptop 13 is now available for anyone to purchase: you can buy one for $199 at the Framework Marketplace. If you already have a Framework Laptop 13 with an Intel or AMD motherboard, the new board is a drop-in replacement.

Messed around on the @frame.work site, and I've made 3 different builds. Honestly, the selections they have are pretty kickass. Go check these guys out. #framework #frameworklaptop #gamerbuild #workbuild #homebuild

Very happy that the #FrameworkLaptop is more flexible than my motor cortex. Its BIOS supports swapping CTRL and FN, so that the world makes sense again. Unconditional love for the person that put this option in there!

Lenovo keyboard fetish is a thing. But typing on the #FrameworkLaptop feels nice and intuitive, right from the start.

Lilbits: Framework Laptop 12, Dasung Paperlike 13K, and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
Frameworks is expanding its modular, repairable laptop lineup this year with the introduction of the first Framework Laptop 12. It's the company's first laptop with a touchscreen display and 360-degree hinge, the first with a 12.2 inch screen, and the first that's positioned as more of a budget device than a premium system: it's expected to come with a choice of a 12th-gen Intel Core i3 processor or a 13th-gen Core i5 chip rather than a newer, higher-performance processor.

I am so glad that I'm doing this as some of the liquid metal had actually escaped the black sponge area and solidifed on to the copper surface of the heat spreader, just outside of the black sponge area!

Since I had my Framework Laptop 16 to the left of me all day, I didn't notice until now the left speaker wasn't working.
I took off the keyboard, touchpad and midplate and saw that I didn't completely seat the speaker cable into its connector.
D'oh!

For people like me, who already own frame.work laptops but don't want to give them any more money... Is it possible for another company step in and make compatible parts? It looks like the mainboard and the little expansion cards are at least partially open-source. #framework #FrameworkLaptop

Currently backing up files on my Framework Laptop 16 before I dive into replacing the liquid metal thermal interface with PTM.
It's gonna be daunting and absolutely not looking foward to it.
Thankfully, I have my second laptop at hand to have the guide open.

If you do have a Framework Laptop 16 that still has liquid metal as the thermal interface, replace it as soon as you can. @frame.work provides a free PTM kit, but the process was not fun, especially when I found that it leaked out of its containment.
