Went to Mud Lake today with Mom and we saw stuff. Bee butt! Wood duck! And while the last two pics aren’t stellar they make me happy for reasons: 1) I haven’t seen a rose-breasted grosbeak in five years and 2) American redstarts do NOT stay still and this is my first half decent pic of one 🪶

If anyone is still wondering about whether these #heatpump systems can work in colder climates, this Sanden heat pump water heater is rated for operation to -25 degrees F.
At 17 degrees F (cold!), it still operates with an efficiency of 2.6 COP - much, much better than a normal elec water heater.

Another day, another CA multifamily project with heat pump water heaters. This time a San Francisco project that installed small Sanden SANCO2 systems with a listed efficiency of ~5 COP (and 2.6 COP at low temps).
