While in Kettering Town today I noticed this interesting, but sad former cinema in the market square.
Clearly a 1930s 'art deco' design, but with a curious saucer on the tower.

The Art Deco mansion at Eltham Palace, built in the 1930s by the fabulously wealthy Stephen and Virginia Courtauld. They incorporated the medieval great hall into the house, while the palace ruins and moat became extravagant garden features #elthampalace #eltham #artdeco

The building of the iconic Athena events venue in #Leicester was originally designed in 1936 by Robert Arthur Bullivant as an #Odeon Cinema 📽️ It had just one screen... but seating for over 3000 guests! #ArtDeco
