I mean, I would have said yes. Sarah had earned her place on the ranch and in the family in the three years she’d worked for us as my assistant. She’d helped us make the ranch the destination it was today, while also coming up with procedures to lessen the work load on us. She was like a second sister to me and my brothers, well, except for Cole. Those two mixed about as well as gasoline and water. Lucky for the rest of us, the two rarely crossed paths from day to day. “Sarah suggested it.” The soft voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I slid another glance her way. All I could see was long black hair because she had her face aimed toward the window. The sunglasses she’d wore outside where clenched in her hands on her lap. After a couple more quick looks, hoping she’d turn around so I could see what color her eyes were, my brain kicked back on. I pushed that weird urge away and tried to remember what I’d asked her. “And do you always do what Sarah recommends?” A barely there huff was followed by another silent pause before she continued. “Don’t you?” I let out a soft chuckle because she wasn’t wrong. Sarah was one of those strong personalities that tended to run roughshod over everyone in their vicinity. It was one of the reasons we worked so well together. I made the rules and she enforced them. Unless she disagreed, in which case, we’d have a few intense discussions until we’d come up with something we could both live with. People tended to steer clear of us during those discussions and my duck and weave game was almost at the same par it had been back in my varsity football days. That woman had an arm that would have made any NFL team proud to call her their quarterback.

Don't think I'll finish another book tonight so here's my November wrap-up. Tried a lot of new to me indie authors this month. Had a couple misses, but also had some wins. Plus anytime there is a new Catherine Cowles book it's a good month.
