Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I was bullied and beaten for being different. I didn’t understand I was gay until I came out in the late 70s. Healing from trauma, I found pride & thrived. Now LGBTQ rights are under threat, but I remain proud. Proud of who I am, of what I’ve overcome.

I’m perplexed by #Lent. The world is falling apart. How do private devotions make sense in the enormity of what’s happening? As I reflected on what meaning Lent could have for me this year, I remembered the words of the Hebrew prophet Isaiah.
