Chicago was pretty sweet. Haven't been there since I was a kid. I never really quite grasped the scale of the great lakes. From the shore, they really are indistinguishable from an ocean!

What you're seeing here is sunset on the lower layer of clouds (that's why they're red). But the towering cumulonimbus (an incipient thunderstorm) rises above and receives full sun.
This is the curvature of the earth in action!!!
