I got a one star "fit only for the bin" because my historical romance novel - The Admiral's Daughter - was not an in-depth study of the Georgian navy. Which if course, the reader should have expected from M&B, that well-known military history publisher.

I was at a bird reserve in Norfolk with a very good birder & a couple got very excited about a flock of homing pigeons. 'What are they?' 'Ptarmigan,' Richard replied, straight-faced. Silence. Then isn't it a bit early for those?' they asked. Ever since, homing pigeons have been ptarmigan
