Tip 1a...provide scaffolding with sources in different formats

Tip 1b...offer learners the opportunity to ask for help.

3/3 Considered if engagement should be anonymous or not.

Once I'd thought through these issues more, adapting for other sessions or later cohorts has been much easier

2/3 For example when faced with how can I "tweak" a session to enable students to engage asynchronously, it took a lot of brain power to think about extracting the key activities and framing it in ways that students could do in a meaningful.e.g. used Canvas discussion boards

A5 many excellent suggestions already. A wise colleague advised me about not leaving a learning session tired...the learners should be the ones exercising their minds.

💪🧠

I think we can share lots of approaches.

Choices?

Do I have the TIME to do this...work Vs study Vs other commitments

DO I have different STRATEGIES in my study "toolkit"

Is there a RANGE of modes I can choose from to help understand the issues?

CHOICE of topics I have?

A3 my learners are staff working full-time.

For them it's a matter of Time ⌛ ...but these are people who usually already have academic qualifications, UG at least so are more familiar with studying?

Still probably need some guidance, especially those entering from business/practice #lthechat

A2 most of the module I teach on is "Flipped" so I try to have clear time stamps on videos and guide what to look at specifically if video is>15 mins.

Try to consider what is feasible between classes for them to study.

Provide a "template" with prompts when reviewing an article.

Nothing like a good notebook. I have several started with good intentions....

A1 IDEALLY I would like to have some guidance on scope on where to look, and would think about what time I have available BUT first response is to:
Search on Internet on the topic 🤦‍♀️...videos and text.

Review these and maybe make notes. #LTHECHAT

A6 AI Agents, yes that technology we are fascinated by, is coming for various (entry level) jobs. Using PSF and the Fellowship process to pause and show evidence of where you add human advantage is key. So is critical thinking and not believing the BS. #LTHEChat @richbale.bsky.social

A6 The major challenge is keeping a job & remaining 'motivated' to put in some of the 'hard work' of collating evidence to support their claim.

When it comes down to it, while the PSF provides a vital guide to work, the 'wider context', is perhaps too much at present. Sorry for pessimism #lthechat

A5 Support specific people to gain that recognition and use these as a catalyst to encourage their colleagues. #lthechat

A5 acknowledge that there are a broader staff beyond academic staff who support learners - don't get fixated on HESA stats.

Encouarge line managers to raise this in PDRS - the different range of issues/questions means that looking at gaining recognition is often overlooked.
