Not quite sure how to put it all in words, but I just spent an extraordinary day celebrating my dissertation adviser, Larry Katz. Feeling grateful, proud, and (re-) inspired.

Larry has raised so many extraordinary economists that being in the same room as them was overwhelming.

Discussing my recent paper on women's employment in Egypt (w/Stefano Caria, Bruno Crepon, & Abdelrahman Nagy), @kbeegle.bsky.social asks whether the constraint on women's employment is "norms v. something else, or just more norms?" Check out her great blog! blogs.worldbank.org/en/impacteva...

I’ll be at Hotel Spero, which is also where the #LERA meetings have been moved to
December 12th is the deadline to cancel your hotel reservations for the AEAs without penalty! Striking hotel housekeepers, servers, and other workers have asked us not to sleep, eat, or meet at striking hotels.

There is still plenty of space at nearby non-striking hotels: www.fairhotel.org
