Earlier today, while worrying about one of my DEdPsych references, I went for a walk and spotted this red admiral. They're said to symbolise transformation & reassurance. 2 hours later, my reference was in. Maybe coincidence but feels like it was the universe's way of saying breathe, it'll be okay 🦋

Finally picking up 'The Body Keeps The Score'. It's been gathering dust on my shelf for too long. I'm excited to dive into its insights on how experiences shape learning, growth, and the mind-body connection. 📚✨🧠

Earlier today, I took myself off for an impromptu bike ride and found a lovely little quiet spot with beautiful views over the Hampshire/Surrey countryside. After a busy start to September, it was the perfect place to stop, reflect and (re)gain perspective. I feel calmer and more focused now ☀️🚲 🌿

A great (albeit, dare-I-say, rather autumnal-feeling) day out today with my daughters at the Alice Holt Forest, Hampshire. Lots of fresh air, decorated some fairy doors, found the Gruffalo, and admired the trees, which are just something else round here!!

Today, I went for a lovely, long walk along the Basingstoke Canal with my family. This bridge near Crookham Village always gives me Lord of The Rings vibes, and I just love it!

Reading All That Matters by Sir Chris Hoy. This line stayed with me: “Why not aim for the gold medal instead of the bronze? Somebody has to be that person to win gold, but only if they try.” Holding onto this as I work towards my goal of becoming an EP. Feels ambitious, but someone has to get there✨

Dissertation: submitted ✅
Brain: fried 🤯
Emotions: mixed 😅
And just like that, my Masters is complete! It’s been challenging & rewarding, full of learning, reflection, & more cups of tea than I can count. Excited (& daunted!) to see what comes next. But first: cat cuddles & a well-earned nap 🐾😴

Living in Hampshire has its quiet perks, like spotting a deer wandering through the garden this morning 👀. Back in Brixton, a fox sighting was a thrill...now it's deer over breakfast. The magic of small, unexpected moments. 🌿🦌

Caught a moment of joy between reading papers and preparing for the next stage of my project - a passing butterfly in the garden, gently reminding me that focus and taking a breather can go hand in hand.

Balance really is everything 🦋

Happy Easter! Wishing you a peaceful day filled with hope, light, and all the joys of spring. This beautiful blossom on our apple tree feels like the perfect reminder of renewal and fresh starts. Here's to family time, a little sunshine, and hoping the kids don't find all the chocolate eggs.😅🌸🐣

Finished supporting my first family with Home-Start. Love the Family Star Plus as a visual tool for tracking progress & encouraging empowerment by focusing on strengths & what’s going well. Great to see how this approach has supported the family in building resilience & achieving positive outcomes🌟

First day of the Easter holidays, and for once, the weather got the memo! A beautiful start to the break and a perfect excuse to get outside, soak it all in and enjoy the simple things 🌿☀️☺️

Finding it hard to stay focused today, the sun is such a distraction...but sometimes a book, a brew, and a bit of fresh air is just what's needed! 🌞📖☕

Happy Friday! 🌼 I love how many vibrant primroses have appeared in my garden this year - they are just the motivation I need to power through to the weekend! Here's to longer days, warmer weather, and little bursts of joy along the way! 💛 #FridayFeeling #SpringVibes

Received a much-needed boost this week with a Volunteer of the Month certificate from Home-Start for February! It's been a tough couple of weeks with my kids home sick and submitting my project proposal, so this really lifted my spirits. Grateful for the chance to volunteer and make a difference! 💛

It's World Book Day! 📚✨ Black Beauty was one of my favourite books growing up, and my Granny's copy, that she passed on to me before she died, is extra special. 💛 Its message of kindness, sympathy, and respect still resonates today. The power of stories truly spans generations! #WorldBookDay

New month, new book! 📖 This time, I'm reading 'Exercised' by Daniel Lieberman, exploring the science of physical activity, health, and why we move (or don't!). Looking forward to seeing how it connects with my interests in psychology and development! Anyone read it?

Taking a break from my project proposal this morning to work on my time management! I’ve put together this Gantt chart to help me stay on track with my project - hoping it keeps me organised in the weeks ahead!

After so many grey, rainy days, the sun has finally made an appearance - and my little study buddy is making the most of it! 🌞😺 Meanwhile, I'm working on my project proposal...not quite as relaxing! 😅
