Janet, I'm loving the books you are sharing during this challenge - thank you! This is another favourite from school - read this in 2nd year secondary. When I first visited Liverpool (when I moved to Ormskirk for uni), loved seeing so many of the places and street names Helen described in her book.

I read this for A-level English. So heartbreaking and so thought provoking throughout. But so beautifully written. I still remember the description of the chokecherry blossom tree.

Poor Granny Ellie! We had Elliott in my old class (when still teaching in school). He looked very sad and in need of some TLC one summer. A lovely colleague and her daughter took him on a visit to Build-a-Bear over the holidays where he was treated to a full spa/re-stuffing experience! 😆

The work of Beth and everyone involved in the Morcambe Bay Curriculum is amazing and so important! Love what is happening through a focus on place-based learning.
