Devolution must be about more local democracy not less. Cancelling the elections this May on the flimsy grounds proposed by the Tory County Council and with no local consensus would be an outrage. I raised this concern in the House of Commons today.

Heat generation accounts for a staggering 37% of the UK’s carbon emissions.

All the while, our leaky housing stock renders heating inefficient, polluting and costly.

Everyone should be able to access their GP within seven days. And within 24 hours if it is urgent. If you agree, please sign our petition: www.ehlibdems.org.uk/gps.
Petition: East Hampshire needs more GPs
People had to wait more than two weeks for over 1.8 million GP appointments in Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS in 2023. Too many people are not able to see a GP when they need to.

I have today written to the minister encouraging him to deliver on that promise asap. In particular too many people in East Hampshire are waiting too long before they can see a GP. And access to NHS dentistry is impossible in many parts of the constituency.

On 20 November, my colleague @dannychambers.bsky.social initiated an important parliamentary debate on healthcare in Hampshire. During the debate, Health Minister @gwynnemp.bsky.social offered to work on a cross-party basis on ways to improve primary and secondary healthcare provision in Hampshire.
