40-something dad trying to stay relevant. Here for Chicago Bears, pro wrestling, late to the party movie takes, pop culture and general tomfoolery. Good natured-snark.

Godspeed, Robert Redford.
Two thoughts:

1. What a joy to revisit a movie you liked a lot back in the day to find it still holds up.

2. I miss the days when Hollywood would crank out movies like this that would casually make $100 million.

I don’t believe the NFL is scripted, but it would explain how the #Bears can change out all of its players and staff multiple times and have the same idenity for the past decade. Organizational rot.

If Pritzker becomes president while we have a Chicago Pope, Illinoisans will be insufferable on a level not seen since Boston sports fans, and I’m absolutely here for it.

I remember in 1990 when the first TMNT film was a “surprise” blockbuster to everyone but my entire school who was frothing to see it. Listen to kids, make movies for them and be ok that not everything needs to be for you.
“A Minecraft Movie” sold an astounding $157 million in tickets in North America from Friday through Sunday, according to box office analysts, nearly double the expected amount.

Loved #SNL50, but we now need a reunion show for the sickos. Deep cut characters, great cast members who aren’t massive celebrities. Put that on Peacock and let the nerds have our day!
