Pretty sure the rat I've seen stealing our strawberries will clear those up tonight. Unless the rat scarer R bought this week has made it move out.

I told them that any fruit they could reach outside the fence was free to eat but not to come inside the garden to pick from the tree. Also the fruit needed a few more days to fully ripen. The flower beds are full of what looked like half eaten cherries. As if they took a nibble then threw it away.

I open the door again to talk to them. They were in fact not looking for a ball but we're all stood outside eating as many cherries as they could reach. They even had a plastic baby slide pulled over underneath the tree to climb on.

Today I saw a gaggle of kids just outside our garden climbing the fence. I go outside and open the gate for them. When I close the patio door I see one of them very clearly sneaking into the garden, not for a ball but to eat our (not quite ripe) cherries. He keeps eye contact the entire time.

I love it at this time of year when it's bare as well. We have courting Great Tits and Blue Tits climbing all over it looking for materials and fighting. They are adorable. And then the flowers come in.
