Sometimes kids kick a football into our garden. To stop them climbing the fence I usually open up the gate so they can just come inside and fetch it themselves. No need to ring the bell or ask me to throw it back out to them. If they close the gate before they go home it's appreciated.

Kid2 turned 18 today which means I technically don't have any kids any more. They're both adults now.

Kid1 had top surgery today. All went well. Their dad was there to help during the aftermath. They're coming home here tomorrow for some rest and recovery so we can take care of them.

I saw on tumblr that instead of just calling the little treats you get yourself “little treats” you should add “for morale” on the end, so now when I buy myself a coffee or a book or whatever I say “for morale!” and it’s brilliant

I'm rarely disappointed when I pick up books recommended by @kjcharleswriter.com and this time was no exception. Alt history with a contemporary setting. I hope it gets a sequel.

I've also started over on #worldsveyondnumber and it's even better the second time around. Spending 2x40 minutes on a bus commute during the weekdays really puts away the episodes and I'm almost caught up again. Considering a relisten of The Children's Adventure.

When I'm not reading I'm sometimes sewing. I have two pairs of trousers I'm hemming for my father and then I have a pair of #Morganjeans by ClosetCorePatterns that I'm altering and sewing for Kid2

Unless a country or people specifically asks to be called a different thing I don't see why the world has to change what we call a thing because some wanna be emperor says he'll start calling a thing a new thing.
