For that to be true, we’d have to think Kamala Harris would not merely neglect trans rights, but that she would use the presidency to actively wage war on trans people as an all-purpose scapegoat/folk demon. Biden was further left on policy than any president in my lifetime, but not a charismatic daddy and not culturally dominating. So in retrospect his presidency feels like a mere Trump intermission.

Scolding people who could be persuadable simply because they haven’t read theory is a recipe for undermining a broader movement. I have found that engaging people sincerely about their beliefs (not abstractions or concepts that require tons of background) is effective in building consensus.
