A visit this morning:)

Yes, I love them. No, I don't eat them. I raise my sheep only for their wonderful wool. And then there is the 'misfit squad' of various rescues, which gives the mill a highly unusual amount of local wool from rare breeds. #humboldt #ferndale

Never let it be said I won’t go the distance to get amazing raw wool for our Small Footprint #yarn #knitting #finnsheep

I love them but they have the survival instincts of sugared up toddlers.

In honor of our rescued dogs (and those we have fostered over the decades). We offer gift cards from our mill (yarn, hats, artwork ect) to people that adopt cats and dogs, we flag on TikTok. It's not much ($100 eac) but if it gets these babies a forever home we are happy to do it.

Tearing my hair out with ‘made in America’. This was made in Alabama. This will be the 3rd defective part since March 2025.

My parents dogs. I'm pretty sure they love them more than all of us. And we are just fine with that :) because dogs are wonderful. Plus unlike them, I am NOT willing to jump out of a helicopter on Cape Cod, grab a human and drag them to shore for a 'good boy' and a cookie.

When you choose a mill, pick one that has carding cloth from England. They make the best in the world, and the difference is clear.

What it's really like being a farmer today. Some days, he thinks about jumping in. If only for a moment. Because every farmer we know is fighting every damn day just to survive the next 3 years.

It takes a small group of dedicated people to create wearable art. I'm so grateful to the knitters, felters, and crocheters who run to the mill every time I do another spin from my flock. This is Shetland from Beans, Lily, and Brian.

I have a few hours before I have to open the mill and get to spinning more wool so I think I will put up some pictures that make me happy. This is 'Blizzard'. He required a safe landing. He arrives next week from Sacramento. A lovely Jacob to add to my wool seed collection.

Brilliant...but will do you one better. (roughly translated) Come a bit closer.

My last handspun for myself. While my wheels sit under cover because I'm too busy I have hope that once we can hire people I can do a little more handspinning.

When making dryer balls. Always check to see if a tiny creature has found a new hiding spot. #shelterdog #rescue

Had a room full of boxes that were neatly stacked from the move. My deaf dog decided it was a treasure hunt (herself the treasure of course).
