The purple highlights are the intrusive thoughts.
The bright green are him interrupting those thoughts and moving on to better ones.
The light yellow are the start of the sweet things. Yes, I'm including the vulture. If you've never marveled at one, I recommend it.
The blue is all community.

My notes on For the Young Who Want to Die, as scribbled on my tablet. Types of Literary devices are highlighted to the upper right, to coordinate with Chanea's template. There are lines and circles and words in different colors that link my thoughts to the parts of the poem that triggered them. "This appointment can be canceled" is written in rainbow pen. In light grey on the top left: "The writer is advocating for postponing Death." From the light pink in the third row, the black line links to light pink text "This highlights the allure" The fourth row notes the repeat "will wait will wait" balances the allure of the third line. towards the middle, circled by rainbow ink, "Death is personified as an indulgent neighbor" is written in very light yellow text because I thrive reading low contrast. The dark green paragraph has three lines and continues off screen. First line begins: "Changes from Death will wait: a reminder not . . ." Second line: "to Stay here" a plea that affirms the unpleasant . . ." Third line, indented: "and the existence of an unwritten futu . . ." At the botton, in dark pink, but very thin lines: "The last stanza breaks the sentiment for me. It shifts . . ." the paragraph extends below the bottom of the image.
