My mother was a teacher at my lower/middle school. I often had to help her, so I'm intimately familiar with the challenges. I have no doubt every teacher would have to work Fridays anyway.

It's supposedly in an effort to improve work-life balance for teachers, but it has been noted that longer school days are harder on kids, and childcare becomes an issue.

The 4-day school week is not a statewide policy in Florida, but some school districts are considering or implementing it. It involves longer school days from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off.
