I write about fictional people in the 1850s/60s set in Cumberland, UK, and the West Coast of Canada. In a "previous life" I taught Chinese history at SOAS, (Dr Chatterton), and now I'm retired I write and read a lot.
There are two series, New Beginnings is the first for the Colville series and The Shackletons of Whitehaven is the first for the Shackleton saga of which the third book is with my proofreader. however, they can all be read as standalones if preferred.

We had a friend who named their house Kohima. I thought all it did was remind him of the war everytime he gave his address. I guess it takes all sorts. If the cover's anything to go by looks like it might be a good read.
