Last week saw the fourth anniversary of the publication of my first book - "New Beginnings in Vancouver Island" and today sees the third and final book in this Colville series with "Farewell to Vancouver Island". It tells Sam Gray's story in the Fraser River goldfields. When I stop to think about it, that's six books and two series in four years with the fourth Shackleton book forthcoming.

It's been a couple of busy months for me. An overnight trip to Edinburgh for some R & R - Reclining & Reading - followed by three author get-togethers. I'm in author's no-man's land right now having sent the first draft of "Leaving Vancouver Island", the final book in the Colville saga, for edit. I chose Edinburgh for a short break mainly because I know the city and love the East coast train journey up there.

I've been hibernating over the winter and after yesterday's clear blue sky and rise in temperature for the final day of February I feel I can really get going. Not that I've been sitting around doing nothing. I've turned over a lot of reading pages over the past two months, published a new book, written 24K of the next Colville novel, and the opening paragraph of the fourth Shackleton saga.
