But I know it will pay dividends in the long run instead of wasting time querying the wrong people.

I spent several hours this morning working on a spreadsheet of agencies that accept picture book authors pulled from the scbwi "the book" resource. I'm about halfway through, and then get to start doing the deeper dive on each agency... The research is exhausting.

You can turn streaks off on Finch! I've been on it for a very long time, and wasn't thrilled when they added the streaks function. I poked around and was able to switch it off that first day it came out. 😂 No regrets!

Happened at my library recently. I ended up booking a private study room for immediate use. Luckily there were tons available, but like. The gall. A freaking. Library. The one place that is universally accepted as a quiet place to NOT take lengthy calls at full volume.

Nope. Not going back to Amazon either, and limiting Walmart to only things I can't find anywhere else. 99% of my shopping is now grocery stores and local businesses.

I 100% needed to know about this bird. Shoebill storks and cassowaries: evidence of birds being descendants of dinosaurs.

It's important, and ALSO, anyone considering booking Kyle - it will be an amazing author visit! He was on a panel at the Tucson Book Festival with a couple other authors, and that group was THE funniest and most entertaining kidlit panel I attended. 10/10 would recommend.
