Unofficial Lore Historian. Sargeras is a fallen (death) titan. Warlocks are necromancers who — during the age/reign of chaos (the warlock) — “govern” death and necromancy.
Fact: Canon has established that necrolyte (in WC1) is a warlock thing. Clearly warlocks can practice necromancy. The question to be asked is, “if necrolyte is a warlock thing (or if warlocks can practice necromancy), why do warlocks not have the raise dead ability”? lol.

LoL, how is u gonna wish for a human to leave you alone when that person debates with you or tells you the truth then reply to that person’s post minutes later? LoL.

What comes next from dumb dumb or Warcraft? That warlocks are actually gods who can rain demonic fel-green meteors/infernals/fires or demonic fel-green powers from the “heavens”. Please learn the difference between God (the Almighty) and necrolytes/necromancers (warlocks) lol.

Warlocks are clearly necromancers or animancers who can animate the fel with anima — the necromantic soul stuff of the Shadowlands/Nether. If fel can be animated, it can be animate. If it can be animate, it can be reanimate/reanimated.

You have the dumb lying fuck Sean Copeland claiming warlocks aren’t nethermancers (necromancers) who harness death or demonic fel (nether) powers from the Twisting Nether even though they have the nethermancy passive — even though warlocks have always channeled power from the Nether.

Warlocks (according to who) aren’t necromancers? LoL. @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com? The company that depicts warlocks as “animancers“ who can harness life from the underworld even though the underworld is the netherworld of the dead? The company that claims that life is from the underworld? My God.

The warlock Gul’dan claimed fel magic is a higher form of shamanism, so are warlocks a higher form of shaman? I mean, I guess my question is, is fel magic really a higher form of shamanism?

@fippo.bsky.social Hello, are warlocks “a higher form of shaman” since the warlock Gul’dan claimed fel magic is a higher form of shamanism? I mean, I guess my question is, is fel magic really a higher form of shamanism?

@gelo3.bsky.social Hello. Happy New Year’s Eve. I have a question I’m hoping you can help me with: Isn’t arcane technically the life magic of a nascent titan or world? I mean, it’s the LIFEBLOOD of a nascent titan or world-soul, so isn’t arcane technically the life magic of titans or worlds?

Blizzard Entertainment has always tried to differentiate the warlocks’ demonic or destructive power from necromantic power even though destructive power from the nether or underworld of the DEAD is ALSO necromantic.

This is for my Wiki. Sounds about right?

Isn’t the warlocks’ demonic fel energy technically necromantic (death) energy since demonic fel energy is not only demonic, but entropic and from the Twisting Nether (the netherworld means underworld of the dead)?
December 25, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Then there is “animated fel” implying that fel can be inanimate and therefore reanimated. Wouldn’t warlocks be animancers who can animate the fel with “anima” or necromancers?
December 19, 2025 at 4:24 AM
I doubt warlocks are just necromancers in the movie canon. I mean, can’t fel be conflated with death still? Aren’t warlocks the true necromancers since they channel fel — the power of entropy — and summon demons back from death (or back from the dead)?
December 19, 2025 at 4:22 AM
There are those who posit warlocks can use death magics or have necromantic abilities — can practice “necromancy” —without being necromancers, which is just wrong.

@jesseheinig.bsky.social Personally, what differs fel from the arcane? Is fel technically “demonic arcane” as the RPG states? Arcane is still being described as chaotic even though fel is chaos or chaotic energy. What’s the point of fel if the arcane can be everything that fel is?

Canon does also refer to the Burning Legion or Sargeras as “death incarnate”. So perhaps fel magic is the force of death (the Burning Legion)?
October 16, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Demonic fel magic’s description from the Demon Soul novel fits “death”. It kills everything or brings it to a state of entropic decay as an entropic force.
October 16, 2025 at 9:28 PM
One would think that fel is death to the titans or their ilk because it not only is the opposite of their lifeblood (arcane energy), but it brought the titans to a state of entropic decay. I’d like to think of fel as a death-giving force as the force of entropy and is therefore still necromantic.*
October 16, 2025 at 9:22 PM
Or at least death-giving. I know fel was referred to as death magic in the movie. Perhaps it’s also still death in the main universe?

Thanks for some insight. Much love. There are some sources that state warlocks have demon masters or serve the Legion — sources that establish that warlocks worship Sargeras. I wouldn’t know the difference between warlocks & shadow priests since both can not only channel shadow, but worship Sargeras
October 14, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Final question for now: Are warlocks technically (fel) priests since Sargeras is the God of Fel and Flame? Are they priests since they would have to pray to Sargeras for fel power? Perhaps they’re not priests for gameplay reasons?
