Crazy how this description is both accurate AND false advertising at the same time #Eddington

Yesterday I posted a thread about my disappointment w/ #TheChairCompany thus far, but I just finished Episode 4 & thought it was great. It actually managed to advance the plot in a meaningful way & connect with the audience emotionally, rather than just being a series of zany gags stringed together.
Not understanding all of the love for #TheChairCompany. I was all-in after the first episode but episode 2 and 3 have not lived up to the premiere. I like some of “I Think You Should Leave”but it got old fast; a lot of it just boils down to Tim shouting weird lines, as if loud = funny.

Dude next to me on the plane is not only hogging the entire armrest but is second-screening the John Wick documentary with a quarterly earnings PowerPoint (which is to say he is not watching the movie at all). How is leaving the house as a brown person currently illegal but not this

“Tron: Ares” is absolutely incredible. Can’t believe Disney greenlit a $180 million vibes movie. Essentially functions as a two-hour long NIN music video, not unlike predecessor Daft Punk’s “Interstella 5555”. F the haters

I loved the movie but Easton Ellis is right that calling it “important” is just rah-rah nonsense. The movie is not very political; it merely uses modern political struggle as a backdrop for a father–daughter story. (cont’d)

There aren’t many pivots the movies can really make to cater to the TikTok generation that wouldn’t also make the cinematic experience utterly pointless. We are faced with an issue that is borderline unrecoverable. (1/5)

“Weapons”: Certainly original but I don't know that it necessarily lives up to the hype as this genre-defying thing. I like Creggar's sensibilities but this is a few script revisions shy of being truly great. (cont’d)

First time seeing “Possession”. Unfortunately it just did not connect for me. It felt like I was watching a self-indulgent acting class final project. I feel like there is expressionism and then there’s just bad filmmaking. (cont’d)

“Barry Lyndon”: Another masterpiece from Kubrick the GOAT. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something this laugh-out-loud funny that was so meticulously crafted. Each and every shot could be printed out and framed; even its use of follow focus is a marvel to behold. (1/4)

After years of being an underdeveloped idea, the inspiration is really starting to hit on my latest screenplay “Superposition” (working title). This will be the first entry in a thriller trilogy/tetralogy (undecided) exploring class struggle, belief systems, and end-stage environmentalism.

Whoever took over Product at Quora these past few years should be ashamed of themselves. Took one of the rare web apps still acting as a social good in the modern age. Turned it into Yahoo! Answers 2.0. No descriptions anymore. Ads galore. Responses are to DIFFERENT questions!!!

“The White Lotus” is hands-down the smartest thing on television right now. It manages to excel as both a compelling drama and a laugh-out-loud comedy; a far more effective class satire than the similarly premised “Triangle of Sadness”. (cont’d)

One of the more insidious things that the widespread corporate adoption of Slack has done is a total lack of data portability.

Instagram suspended my account. They won’t tell me why, but I suspect it’s because I posted a photo of my friend’s kitschy butt-shaped glassware to my stories because I thought it was fun. My guess is they ran AI or computer vision on it and it was determined to be graphic.

“The Monkey” is a good time. I'm mostly over horror-comedy but this tickled me for sure. Sort of zooms out on a slasher movie world and examines what witnessing constant death might do to a person, or to society at large.
