Ah I guess it was outside of the contest then. I know people were protesting showing it in bars and such for the same reason.

They could, but they probably won't do it. Why would they want you to know if you're losing money unexpectedly? That's too helpful for the rider.

Yep I learned this the hard way. It'll give you one extra fare and then you're in negative. I especially don't like how I can't tell if I get charged multiple times for a tap, since those readers don't always work.
