I knew this was gonna give me everything I needed. It's been so long since a new Katamari, & Once Upon didn't disappoint in the slightest. Some classic stages (even Cowbear 😭) & some new interesting ones. It's everything that I've always loved about this series. Soundtrack's obviously fantastic.

VERY excited for this next one. New Katamari in over a decade AND got it on holiday sale? Win win~

Wrapped DK Bananza. A game that really felt like an Odyssey lite. Some of the choices the game made were questionable IMO, like the bananas basically being optional thru the main game & the wonky camera when underground. It's not a bad game by any means & thankfully doesn't overstay its welcome.

Read through Flamer since I picked up Gaysians this summer & also enjoyed it. It's about a teenager who's trying to figure himself out in those weird years. A story that still holds true, demonstrating the destructive powers outside influences have on someone trying to just live. Captivating read.

Shout out to my local library for the next one.

Played Disney Illusion Island during the game trial period & finished it. I definitely wasn't expecting an extensive Metroidvania when I got into this one. The aesthetic & vibe of this one was really cool. Never felt particularly difficult to me. Not much to do once you beat it, but it was good!

Finished Ghost of Yotei & got the platinum. A solid game that improved on a lot of things from Tsushima, but at the same time left me wanting a bit. The characters & story weren't as compelling to me as the original. Aesthetically still gorgeous to travel & explore. Combat was more fun & strategic.

Wrapped The Girl on the Train. An entertaining enough whodunit. I try to go into these popular books with low expectations. It was a bit tougher to read because I wasn't a fan of any of the lead characters, as they were all pretty unlikable. Not much motivation to ever go back to this one either.

Finished Matriarch by Tina Knowles. Heard it was a great read & can confirm. The story that she has lived, even outside of her daughters, is completely fascinating. I felt engaged the entire time, and thankfully the story focuses on her. Obviously Beyonce is part of the story, but not the focus.

Started Ghost of Yotei and already blown away by how this game looks. It's gonna be a stunner for sure!

Wrapped the Iki Island DLC for Ghost of Tsushima ahead of Yotei. A nice addition in a new environment, with some very interesting additions that I hope they carry over to the new game (especially enemies swapping weapons mid fight & the horse charge). The game continues to blow me away visually.

Wrapped the main story of Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut. Still as stunning as the last time I played it. Currently working through the DLC before Yotei releases later this week. One of the few games that has ever inspired me to take pictures in-game, because it truly is like a work of art.

Started up 2 games yesterday. Never finished Seiken Densetsu 3, so currently playing with a friend, and Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 ahead of the Yotei release.

Previously wrapped the first Klonoa game in the bundle. I've never played any of these before but I really enjoyed it! Difficulty ramped up A LOT by the end, to an almost frustrating degree, but the game was incredibly charming. I can see why it's so beloved by its fans. I'll eventually get to 2.

Wrapped Kirby Star Allies. A very cute adventure, with some fun elemental puzzles. Lots of customization options & plenty of modes to play after you're done. I'm sure it would've been fine to play alone, but it was definitely made with multiplayer in mind, & I'll happily give it a thumbs up there.

I'm traveling soon so I didn't want to start anything new that I wouldn't be able to continue if I didn't finish in time, so decided to finally give that Klonoa bundle I bought on sale a while back a try. I've heard a lot of good things about this series, so hoping for a great time!

Wrapped No Sleep For Kaname Date. A satisfying story with some fun puzzles. As a fan of the series I enjoyed it, but the previous games have spoiled me a bit. This one definitely feels more like a side story, with less weight & less to do overall. Not bad by any means, but still a bit of a letdown.

Started Tiny Tina's Wonderlands with a friend. Curious to see how it turns out. At the very least I picked it up for less than $15, so if it's at least enjoyable I won't be mad.

No Sleep For Kaname Date released today! VERY excited to give it a go. Since I'm playing on Switch 2, I'll also try out the mouse controls, since it's mostly point & click anyway.

Wrapped Bayo 3. A mixed bag that thankfully got better as it progressed. I was a bit concerned at first, given the new Pokemon like demon summons gimmick that slowed the combat down a lot. But I was definitely in love with the game by the end of it. Excited for what's next!

Started up 2 games last night, Split Fiction, which I'm playing with @reallyrob.bsky.social, & Bayonetta 3, which I borrowed from @shiningglimmer.bsky.social a while ago & decided to finally play through since No Sleep For Kaname Date is releasing in a couple of weeks. Curious to see how these go!

Wrapped Raidou Remastered & so happy this game was rereleased so I could give it a try. It's a unique system within SMT with a good story. Pacing was a bit off at times, but it's a small complaint. Really hoping that Atlus goes ahead & releases the sequel, which I'll definitely pick up as well.

Still very grateful that a friend was able to get these new Zelda Amiibo for me. When they announced the updated prices for these here I was pretty bummed, but a friend living abroad was able to snag them at a much more affordable price.

I totally didn't realize that Raidou Remastered came out last week. Been a big fan of Atlus/SMT adjacent stuff since I first got Nocturne a million years ago. I didn't get this during the initial run, back when it was super limited print & impossible to get after. Excited to finally give it a try!
