I think DeepSeek is lying about a lot of stuff including the $6M & it's capabilities. The AI doesn't even answer basic questions & won't criticize the CCP's regime.
It depends on how much they are lying about everything. Deepseek is good. It's open source. But they aren't transparent about the economics. At least from what I have read so far.

I think DeepSeek is lying about a lot of stuff including the $6M & it's capabilities. The AI doesn't even answer basic questions & won't criticize the CCP's regime.
People are so gullible. Markets are reacting and DeepSeek hasn't yet provided any transparent public evidence that they used $6M to create everything they say they have.🙄 Something feels seriously off with that kind of monetary disparity.
Something I find noteworthy about the current coverage of China’s DeepSeek AI: How few, if any, news organisations make the connection between ‘fewer chips needed’ and lower greenhouse gas emissions. DeepSeek could upend the fossil fuel industry‘s recent narrative by which AI justified new drilling.
