Peas make me sneeze.
It was heartening to see the huge nonviolent crowd yesterday in Eugene. This is what democracy looks like, indeed.

Estimates are about 4,000 people who showed up to say #nokings

There were smaller protests all over the area, too, including at my mom's-in-law's retirement home. Beautiful.

Was in Seattle and spent a few hours in the Japanese Garden. 🌱🌿

My brain, once I've noticed the joy in how someone's voice moves in sounds, often loses the ability to put the sounds into meaning.

I once had to buy the text version of a book whose audiobook narration was waves of sounds hitting the beach on a calm day. Lovely, but couldn't focus! Brains 🤷

Today as I weeded I thought about whether I'd be killed by a right wing transphobe I knew or one I didn't. I just want to be my authentic chaotic gardener self and curse the snails who eat my hostas, not fear for my life. Happily my Sweet Williams bring much joy.

My hip is acting up but I managed to get the last of the starts I had into the ground and planted more bean seeds. Asked the snails to move to another yard (and put out Sluggo). As I'm not very mobile I'm mostly just enjoying the fruits of my labor to create a low maintenance high interest garden.

RFK has zero understanding of autism and of what makes a life meaningful. Autistic people have a wide range of skills & ways in which they benefit from support in this society based on abled people's needs. Needing support is not shameful. Human value is not tied to productivity and reproduction.

🌱🌿 Loving the few days of sun before the rains start up again. Planted a few plants, spread some seed, and currently am drinking a smoothie and considering the hope inherent in gardening.

My trees are sharing why they are beloved by my neighbors, and myself! Other flowers are starting to pop up! Beauty in Oregon as we teeter on the edge of spring... 🌿🌱🌷

It's still early spring in Oregon, but I do love my sturdy babies who are happily blooming and bringing additional color to the garden! 🌱🌿

🌱 Weeded the pots and planters today and discovered that my random lettuce continues to show up here and there on the ground three years after a squirrel spread the lettuce seed I'd just planted all over the place.

Every year a few go to seed where I can't easily reach, and each spring I giggle...
