Tariffs are great business for contract lawyers. Take construction: contractors won contracts based on projected cost of materials. They’ll want to know if they have to honor a price agreed to six months ago? How many purchasing mgrs are cancelling orders while they look at non-tariffed countries?

I’m wondering how tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods may impact gov’t costs? Federal, sate and municipal governments are consumers. Might we see cuts in services because costs have gone up?
