I keep thinking about what I said earlier and now I’m not so sure that’s entirely correct because you’re right - I do love to read slice of life stuff btwn the characters I adore! The quiet little moments you don’t get among all the big adventure. But if the characterization is off, then I’m out.

But if the work itself feels complete to me, fanfic doesn’t tend to pull me as much.

I connect with (and write) fanfic when I feel like there was something we should have gotten, but didn’t. Probably my single most popular fanfic is the Rational Life sex scene we never got lol. The other fics I write are for a show that got canceled WAY before it should have in the 90s.
