They spend most of their existence lying down in a dark room to avoid getting even sicker from sensory stimulation and exertion. Speaking can be impossible. Severe #ME/CFS sufferers face financial hardship, relationship difficulties, and barriers to medical care, even medical abuse.

Today, is severe #ME/CFS Awareness Day. What is “severe” ME/CFS?

About 25% of ME/CFS sufferers are homebound or bedbound, meaning they cannot easily move around or leave their homes without significant assistance. Eating, drinking, and breathing can be extremely difficult.
