Added a few new additions to the tank!! Picked up a fire shrimp such a beautiful creature, and yes I totally named it jacque!! I also picked up a leopard nassarius snail which is neat. Can’t wait to get a pair of clowns for the tank next!!

Added a few new additions to the tank!! Picked up a fire shrimp such a beautiful creature, and yes I totally named it jacque!! I also picked up a leopard nassarius snail which is neat. Can’t wait to get a pair of clowns for the tank next!!

Black Friday was a blast! Upgraded to a bigger tank and picked up a small powerhead. I had a blast redoing my aquascape too! Today, I got crafty and made a custom acrylic lid to cut down on evaporation and help my heater work less hard.

Yes! These are starfish tube feet.
Part of the water vascular system, they are used for moving, respiring, and feeding. They are arranged in lines along the arms and can grip with the chemically adhesive ends to help turn over a starfish that is upside down.

After writing a biology lab exam and having to define the habitat, energy source, reproduction, adaptations, and draw / label the anatomy of a Pisaster from scratch. I found it immensely rewarding to observe this beautiful starfish at the reef store. I got so excited to see the tube feet in action!
