Listen out for #bells across London (and beyond) on Thursday evening as #bellringing marks #VEDay80 just as ringers did in the generations before.

Tomorrow the Middlesex Association of Church Bellringers will be ringing at Spitalfields, Hart St and Aldgate before a service at St Botolph’s Aldgate and an AGM close by. Listen out for #bells in the area through the afternoon before we talk about our #bellringing plans for the year.

Bellringing at St Vedast, Foster Lane attracts attention as people look up to the windows and see the ringers and the ropes. I hope you enjoyed it. On a Sunday morning you can hear the bells at St Paul’s drifting across to the St Vedast ringing room!

The Middlesex Association also does this. I use EasyFundraising with booking.com for hotels as an easy way to generate an extra donation for our Bell Restoration Fund.

A fantastic opportunity to hear handbell ringing of the highest quality and try to recognise this tune from the louder, slower ringing of church #bells which we are more used to hearing. #bellringing is a skill and these ringers are experts.

Hear #bellringing across the City of London this weekend as the Ancient Society of College Youths ring peals on 12 bells to mark 300 years since the first known 12 bell peal. St Bride’s no longer has 12 #bells so will ring handbells but church bells will peal from Holy St Sepulchre and others.

Bellringing is definitely an activity which encourages ’flow’ and is therefore good for mental health and physical health, with added community contact which is also good for everyone involved! Ring out the bells for a Happy New Year and good health for all!

The London Bell Ringers Advent Carol Service was great. The choir, organists, readers and preacher were all ringers. The ringing beforehand was run well and ensured everyone had an opportunity to ring. With huge thanks to Katie, it was wonderful to have this opportunity for ringers to come together.

This winter seems to have more weddings than usual and it’s lovely to ring #bells for wedding celebrations. Great sunset photos, #bellringing can get you out when you might otherwise not.

Ringers from North and East London met yesterday for Christmas ringing at St Sepulchre’s on Holborn Viaduct and finished with mince pies and bell themed jammy dodgers (homemade). This was an opportunity to ring together before #bellringing at multiple carol services. #bells

We will have mince pies (and bell shaped biscuits) at the Middlesex Christmas ringing on Saturday afternoon with an 8 bell then 12 bell tower. #bellringing is extra special at Christmas!

The Advent season sees #bellringing practices adjusted to fit around carol services and that meant Spitalfields available for a Monday evening with the Foster Lane band. Beautiful #bells with impressive heft in their tone.

We have a similarly bright leaved tree outside St James Garlickhythe and it is always cheering to see as we go in or out for #bellringing
