I'll be honest: I burned out real hard this fall, between my wife's surgery, not being able to finish Yule Be Sorry in time to publish this year, and just the world at large, so getting any words feels great. I missed these guys. 336 words so far, and it's a slow day at work... 🤞🏼

What do you think, Jo? Too much? My wife says it makes the whole collection look like a Christmas thing, but I think I'm okay with that, because people will just read all the way to book six for it? Book four takes place at Fourth of July; they'll figure it out pretty fast.

Thursday September 25 North Portland father Raphael areola Caballero is being threatened with expedited deportation this morning as early as 11:00 a.m. Raphael had just received shoulder surgery and ICE re-injured him when they violently detained Caballero by shattering his car window and hauling him out of the driver's seat. ICE is trying to get him out of the country so they aren't held accountable. He is the father of three and with a child with special needs.

Update: Cookie's hat was too loose, so I did one more round where I reduced and used a smaller hook. Thankfully, it doesn't cover her eyes and now it fits snugly! And of course, she's very stylish with her matching scarf. 🧶

I turn back to the mirror to check my appearance again: I picked a crimson dress shirt, because it’s Christmas-y, and it’ll hopefully help people not to mistake me for wait staff. Same with my gray slacks: the black was too much. I may or may not have pulled out clothes I haven’t worn in years for this…I’m a little surprised they still fit. I gave my hair a trim with the electric razor, I even shined my shoes. I look sharp. Then I notice that Sammy’s frowning at me in the mirror. “What?” “You took out some of your piercings.” “So? I always take them out for work.” He puts a hand on my lower back possessively. “But you’re not going to work.
