When we decline to speak ill of the dead, it’s because we have compassion for the living. In this respect, I am sorry for Kirk’s children. I don’t know if Kirk was a good father, but if he was, that does little to mitigate the damage he did to other people’s children. I can only hope for the sake of his kids that they have role models who will teach them that it is wrong to profit off the dehumanization of people because of who they are.

I broke my rule of not engaging with strangers on Facebook and as always it's proving why I made that rule.

A guy who dresses as a girl and wants to use a girls bathroom, any one who uses more than one pronoun, any one of the hundreds of thousands that think screaming at people to accept them because they are seeking attention and being "queer" is the easiest thing they can come up with...and the list goes on. My partner and I of 30 years have watched those pink haired rainbow flag waving goofballs get people, who had become accepting, all up in arms again.

TPUSA was only able to thrive thanks to the generosity of President Trump. On the one year anniversary of the assassination attempt on Trump's life, Charlie hosted @ComicDaveSmith at @TPUSA's SAS conference where Dave Smith was able to speak to a bunch of conservative youth at an organization that claims to be Pro-Trump. 3 weeks ago, Dave Smith called for President Trump to be IMPEACHED and REMOVED from office over his decision to blow up Iran's nuclear facilities. Charlie played both sides of the Iran issue on his show as we all saw, because he wants to play to both sides of the aisle. The honorable thing to do is to have a position and actually defend it to the death instead of flip flopping.

The example of the New Deal also underscores the necessity for the American left to build the type of mass base that can authorize significant shifts in the constitutional order. Even before Trump’s current assault, that order had failed as a mechanism for addressing the interlocked crises of our era: economic, ecological, racial. Any real prospect of positive change will require a durable majority – even if it falls short of the supermajorities we saw in the first half of the twentieth century. This is an essential prerequisite for norm-breaking from the left, but on behalf of democracy.
