Trump’s ONLY goal is to get attention, to capture as much of each news cycle as he can. The fact we are having a discussion about it shows how successful he is at this. To attribute any other motivation for what he does is a mistake.

Let’s look at this with another lens… if their only goal was to get Comey’s name in the news for a couple months (along with constantly mentioning his crime) to have the case dismissed is, for Trump this is his best possible outcome, because now he “is still guilty but free on a legal technicality.”

Even the same music, with that repetitive base note hitting us… All we need now is a guilty, drunken soliloquy by a ranger explaining how his patrol had desecrated an Indian burial ground & that this was all some kind of retribution! #BMoviemaniacs

Baum also gently makes fun of American consumerism, for example, his description of Emerald City & its “department store” allure, an illusion kept by the mandatory wearing of the green-tinted glasses.

Great article! I have an answer for John Waters, who famously asked the question, “Why would [Dorothy] go back to Kansas?” It’s implied several times in the film—that “over the rainbow” is a euphemism for death. Dorothy wasn’t ready for “that last great adventure” & chose to go back to her family!
