I think they had so much irrefutable evidence that they got overconfident. It never occurred to them a stupid thing like

The DA’s inability to prevent that little farce during trial was only one of many fuck-ups. They should have seen it coming. It could have possibly been a interloc appeal. I‘d like to read the trial briefs on the issue. All the things and more should have excluded it.
