I just kind of realized that my whole aesthetic boils down to the idea of: girly but not pretty. It’s not that me or my objects can’t be pretty but it’s not the point. We can be over-the-top girly, resplendent with bows and flounces and not give one shit if the world perceives us as pretty.

Found this gorgeous sipper while browsing Salt Stone Ceramics online shop, the colors are so beautiful....the interior seems so deep. A really lovely silhouette.

Throwback pic to 2020, I miss Brooklyn so much! Bay Ridge was the best & I loved the constant mash-ups like this flower/beer display😄 #brooklyn #bayridge

Throwback to a pencil sketch I drew in 2020, double vases, a scorpion-like outline and halos around each vase.

Posting this beautiful bowl by Barbara Hanselman, from the 500 Bowls book, a little bootleg I'll admit, a picture of a book 🤣 but I don't think anyone will be upset. I mean, isn't this just fantastic? The texture, the colors, that surface...and what a cool idea.

Today's pot, a new thing I've been trying out with these carvings. I started with a floral design in mind but the leaves quickly became blocky as I thought about the OG Mario games, and embroidery on quilts. This is a white stoneware, covered in dark brown engobe, then carved through.

Finished glazing this small cup with new pattern, I'll dip it in a clear then it's ready for the kiln. I've been playing around with engobes, painting and applying with a slip trailer. Lately my recent work has been really intense surface-wise because I can work at home after my toddler is asleep...

Went in to the studio to glaze today, honestly if I'm not glazing 7 different things at once I would become bored out of my mind. Mostly because the layers need to dry before applying another layer...
