There is no responsible software engineer who could document & scope the existing system and its interconnects and APIs in months, much less replace a hardened, tested, proven, functional system in a “new” language.

BREAKING: DOGE is starting to put together a team to migrate the SSA's computer systems entirely off one of its oldest programming languages in a matter of months, potentially putting the integrity of the system—and the benefits on which tens of millions of Americans rely—at risk.
DOGE Plans to Rebuild SSA Codebase In Months, Risking Benefits and System Collapse
Social Security systems contain tens of millions of lines of code written in COBOL, an archaic programming language. Safely rewriting that code would take years—DOGE wants it done in months.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Thought: Trump isn’t the problem. He is the only elected person with the stones to fight. If you won’t fight for anything, and you demonstrate that your principles aren’t real, then why should anyone support you. You lose every fight. Democrats let Trump.

Unbelievable news.

Pancreatic is one of the deadliest cancers.

New paper shows personalized mRNA vaccines can induce durable T cells that attack pancreatic cancer, with 75% of patients cancer free at three years—far, far better than standard of care.

This guy is shockingly hypocritical, even for a rapacious bottom-feeder. We can do so much better than this clown.
Ryan Gonzalez (HD-50) says he supports law enforcement, but it's pretty clear that he doesn't support law, and he's ok with a gang attacking Capitol Police. Maybe he thinks that gangs are fine, if the gang is (mostly) white. #copolitics #co08 #colorado

I’m not a fan of what Musk/Trump is doing, but the TSA is security theater, and it would be fine with me to see it go.

Securing cabins on planes made us more secure. Taking off our shoes does nothing (as is evidenced by the fact that you can simply pay to keep them on).
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created after the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks to improve transportation security and prevent future attacks. The TSA is part of the US Dept of Homeland Security

How does abolishing TSA make us safer?

This is absolute lunacy from a US Senator

I don’t think this is entirely fair. This traces back to Clinton’s Democratic Leadership Council. Dems have forgotten how to have independent positions on foreign & fiscal policy, focusing on nuance & social issues. This was effective when the GOP was sane, but we don’t know how to lead anymore.
I’m tired of hearing consultants say that an issue is popular right now so we shouldn’t go against it. No…we need to get to work changing public opinion and stop following it. open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...
