The weekly (okay…daily) worm of self doubt is here. I know comparison is the thief of joy, but this is my default reaction whenever I read a book that slaps. The negative self talk starts and suddenly I’m a hack writer without a creative bone in my body. Gonna shut that voice up by doing it anyway

As someone who mostly reads horror, I'll never understand the vitriol towards "cozy" books. People say they are escapist, unserious, allowing readers to avoid big issues. And I'm like, girl, WHEN did your dark romance book fix society? Did I BLINK and miss your detective thriller solving crime?
