I remember sitting in the gallery for the second reading of the Health and Safety at Work Act, with Anna Osborne and Sonya Rockhouse, and Deborah McMillan whose husband was killed on a forestry job, and listening to the MP for Invercargill waxing lyrical about "preserving rural life". It was gross.
Yet again Minister Van Velden shows ignorance of real vs imaginary risks to young people from NZ laws and practice. There's no minimum age for work in NZ. Pike River deaths included 17YO.
