Here's some interesting Sans dialogue from Undertale. Perhaps just a throwaway gag with no relation to Deltarune, although hear me out... it seems to be heavily implied that the Festival is taking place on Halloween, judging by the foliage *and* Jackenstein.

In 2011, Toby Fox had the Deltarune fever dream while at college. It's known that he lived in New England and he went to college in Boston, which definitely explains Hometown's appearance and the weather channel's similarity to the area, however...
