One thing I love about winter: getting into my warm, well-lit house after the low-speed drive home on snowy roads in the cold and dark. My cold feet are wrapped in a heating pad and my cold fingers are wrapped around a cup of hot tea. I love cozy.

Monday I"m going to my sister's to help start getting off proprietary internet platforms and start moving to open source. She really wants to do this, but she's less comfortable with tech than I am. The bigger task will be convincing my husband and son that they should also do this.

My 7-year-old is on the spectrum and is a HUUGE fan of trains, specifically the New York City subway system.
Lately, he's feeling different from the other kids at school, none of whom love trains.
