Having a difficult day, but I'm glad to have microscopy to inspire me and hopefully inspire others as well. 💔

Calling #histlogy #anatomy experts: corpus spongiosum in the clitoris? This article says they've "proven" it despite insufficient reporting & inconclusive, low-resolution micrographs. Has anyone studied this topic? @drkarenpinder.bsky.social @chapmanhisto.bsky.social @amandameyerphd.bsky.social

Gorgeous #histology!
Is it only me seeing similarities between illuminated trees and astrocyte cells in the brain? Can you see the morphology of a single large blood vessel in the middle of the image below? 🔬🧠

Got the answer from the TA authoritei :)
There was no official anatomic term for Kiesselbach plexus, but I am told to use the following name, which will now go on Terminologia Anatomica:
Anterior plexus of the nasal septum

Happy American Thanksgiving!

Settle a #histology debate: What is the best non-eponymous term for Malpighian layer (strata basale + spinosum) of the skin? I say s. germinativum but a colleague says that's an old name for stratum basale. Thoughts?
