But it was just so clear that this professor had only ever had sighted students. I was so taken aback that I was silent the rest of the discussion. I always wish I'd pushed back more. They were an otherwise great professor, which goes to show how ingrained that elitism around reading can be /end

My insights about the text were no longer valuable because I had read the book in a particular format. I had read the audiobook because I'd driven home that week to surprise my mom who was graduating nursing school, and it wasn't getting read otherwise. /2

Audio is the original storytelling medium, and text is a pale imitation. All this punctuation is trying its hardest to replicate the subtleties of speech in your mind as it would have been translated by voice, with only partial success.

Audiobooks are returning story to its true state.
