So proud of everyone who marched in the USA yesterday. Wish I could've been there, you represented me too! Loving the signs posted on the internet #HandsOff

Happy Independence Day #Senegal! You should be proud that you have the strongest democracy in West Africa, and that you have always fought off those presidents who wanted to change the constitution so they could run for third terms.

We just finished our latest cetacean & sea turtle stranding survey of Senegal's north coast- in honor of #InternationalWomensDay it was the first time with an all female team! Unfortunately, we found a lot of carcasses...usually we don't find much in the winter months, so this was an exception.

Absolutely incredible! A member of our stranding network videoed a Mediterranean monk seal in Delta Saloum, central Senegal, ~1000 km south of the nearest colony (Cap Blanc, Mauritania). This is the first record of this species in Senegal since the 1960's! Huge thanks to Doudou Ba for reporting it!

Some of my fav shots from our 2 weeks in Pt St George studying the manatees (see more photos on Instagram @africanaquaticcf ). Pt St George is such a peaceful place, with wonderful friendly dogs (& people of course!), great food and gorgeous views. Some of the photos taken by Andaya & Lamin.

Glad to be here! I'm currently in the field in southern Senegal doing manatee and Bottlenose dolphin surveys. Happy to be out in the real world away from the news cycle!
